The Dotti family and friends from Hamburg, Germany

We spent almost a week in spring time 2010 … we almost couldn’t reach Guernsey because of the volcano ash in the air when we tried to get from London to Guernsey, we made it finally by train to the coast and by ferry to Guernsey. We had a warm welcome by everybody on this nice isle … starting on the ferry, at the airport rental care service (as we planned to come by plane) and of course at La Pointe Farm!

We were a group of a family (father, mother, 8-month-old boy) and 2 friends and spent the tme in the L’Eree apartment … we liked the comfort of the full equipped kitchen very much, as we were before some days in London and could here wash all our clothes in the washing machine. Very helpful!

The apartment was well furnished, clean, comfy and had everything we need for some relaxing days. The surrounding and the house was very special … at least for us coming from Hamburg … I love this cottage style! 🙂
I was walking with our baby boy down to the beach … took me maybe 20 minutes.

We bought everything at a supermarket about 5 minutes by car. There was also a nice Italian restaurant (very friendly to our little boy) also just five minutes by car … when you come from the a Pointe Farm just to the left and straight forward, then it’s after a short drive on the right side.

Well, what to say … the landlord was very helpful, but in a quiet and not too flashy way. We would really like to stay at La Pointe Farm again, when we will go to Guernsey again. I will recommend every of my friends to stay there if they ever go to Guernsey!
Kind regards,
Alexandra Dotti

We stayed in the cottage apartment 23 march and were lucky to catch the lovely weather at that time. We brought our dogs, Max and Alf and they had a great time. The apartment was lovely, light and airy and very comfortable. We love the island and try to come every year to “chill out”. This was our first stay at La Pointe Farm, and we will look forward to visiting again. Guernsey is such a lovely friendly place; the beaches are great for the dogs to play, and lovely walks round the lanes – to finish up at the pub for “refreshment”.

We stayed in the Cobo apartment between 23 and 30 April 2012. The apartment was excellent, clean tidy and warm. I would recommend a stay at any time of year.
Guernsey is a lovely island and there is always plenty to do regardless of the weather. We enjoyed walking along the coastal path, spectacular views and exploring the beaches. If you like history you are surrounded by things to see. We have visited 3 times and still have only scratched the surface of the island.

We stayed at Cobo apartment in March 2012. Ideal for 2 people. Clean, well equipped with very comfy beds. Kevin & Cindy were very helpful and answered all our questions. Flowers and wine on arrival – lovely.
We had very good weather and enjoyed crab sandwiches and a pot of tea from the kiosk on Portelet harbour on several occasions. Looking forward to our next visit with you in September.

This was my first visit to Guernsey and I’m sure it will not be the last. Blessed with excellent weather, I thoroughly enjoyed may stay 24-30 March 2012. As a walker and wildlife enthusiast I found plenty to see.
I stayed in the Wing at La Point Farm and the accommodation was excellent. The Wing is very well equipped, private and has a pleasant view out towards the coast. Kevin and Cindy have created a very nice apartment here.
For walkers I would recommend the coastal path along the south coast. I walked from Pleinmount to St Peters Port and returned by bus. The bus service on Guernsey is excellent. It is well worth deviating from the costal path to explore the beautiful green lanes along the way. The Perry’s guide is more than adequate for walking.
For nature lovers the local reserves are looked after by La Societe Guernesiaise. Some of these are within walking distance of La Point Farm. Lots of information available on www.societe.org.gg
I also found that the local enthusiasts are extremely helpful and willing to share their knowledge regarding sighting etc.
I would happily recommend Guernsey and La Point Farm.

Just had another cracking week in Guernsey, made all the better by our wonderful accommodation in the newly refurbished wing, if two people want a nice private piece of accommodation then this is the place. It has its own small private garden and has everything you need and Kevin and Cindy really look after their guests. So highly recommended

First time I visited Guernsey was in 1987!
Now I came back with my family to visit Guernsey again and we stayed for one week in July in the Mirus cottage. We are all very impressed from the nice cottage and from the very friendly people on Guernsey. About the beauty of Guernsey the other people in this guestbook wrote the right words!

Stayed at ‘The Wing’ in June 2011 with a 4 month old baby, weather wasn’t particularly kind for the week so warm, dry and comfortable accommodation was essential and the wing provided just this. The wing was well equipped, perfect for a relaxing week’s holiday. The view from the dining room out to Pleinmont observation tower at meal times was nice. Kevin and Cindy were excellent hosts and looked after us well. The farm is very peaceful and has stunning views over both the surrounding countryside and out to sea. We visit Guernsey every year and this was our first at la pointe farm, i am in no doubt we will be staying at la pointe farm again….

We stayed in the L’Eree Apartment for 8 nights in May 2011 (sorry for the delay in posting!), and would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a warm welcome to Guernsey. The apartment itself is lovely and bright and clean, and we received a bottle of wine and beautiful fresh flowers on arrival, which was a lovely personal touch. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the views over the countryside and sunsets over Hanois lighthouse were amazing. Kevin and Cindy are superb hosts, and the animals are all really friendly (we just about persuaded Mum that she couldn’t get Tommy into her suitcase). The farm really is situated in the best part of the island – we envy you living there year round!
We enjoyed every aspect of the island, including cliff-top walks, and the beaches at Saline, Port Soif and Moulin Huet Bay are stunning. The shop in the village is great value and stocks everything including Waitrose brands! Very handy. The L’Eree Bay Hotel and Longfrie Inn are close by and served great food.
With a particular interest in the German occupation, we can highly recommend the German Occupation Museum, Fort Hommet, the tower at Pleinmont and the German Naval Signals HQ in St. Peter Port. Sherri also gave us a fantastic insight into the history of the farm and its role as part of the Mirus Battery – many thanks for the loan of the book by the way – it was a great guide and map for our very enjoyable stroll around the sites across the fields…
All in all a very relaxing and memorable holiday – and we would have no hesitation in booking at La Pointe again.

Having stayed in the Portelet apartment, we can heartily recommend it as the place to stay on the wonderful isle of Guernsey. The island offers a excellent mixture of relaxation, fascinating places and very good food (and shops!). The apartment offers all the comforts of home and a inviting place to end the day. All thanks to Kevin & Cindy

We stayed in the Vazon apartment for our visit to Guernsey. We would come back and stay in the same place again every time! Lovely clean and spacious living area, great views and lovely setting for our holiday. Kevin and family very so helpful and friendly. Lots of extras in the apartment like buckets and spades, fishing nets and crab lines. Great for our 6 year old. The kitchen had everything needed for self-catering – including wine and biscuits! Easy parking and lovely animals around the farm. Perfect place to stay!

Mirus cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed for a very enjoyable holiday. Our 2 dogs loved the walk down the fields by the cottage even before they even got to Guernsey’s glorious beaches. Guernsey was much better than we all expected & as the weather was very mixed for mid-June we had lots of time to visit the Occupation museums & installations that were very interesting. An extra bonus was a Waitrose supermarket in St Peter Port!! Wine and chocolate biscuits on arrival were much appreciated.

We stayed at Mirus cottage in May 2011. Living and eating area much smaller than I envisaged, from photos on website. Kevin very helpful, and the bottle of wine on arrival was much appreciated. All in all a very quiet and peaceful holiday. Can recommend the food at the L’Eree hotel.

One year ago we stayed for one month at la pointe farm. It was our first holiday as a family. With Kevin and Cindy as hosts there was a very warm welcome. Cobo apartment was very well equipped for our needs. In every situation where it was needed, Kevin and Cindy offered their help.
Thank you for this unique holiday experience.
Hopefully we are able to visit again in 2012 – and then with two children 😉

Catherine and I spent five marvellous days in Guernsey, from 24- 30 August 2010.
“The Wing” was really very well. Located near the bus stop the cottage enabled us to profit from a starting base for our excursions ideally located: sea at 10 minutes, Saint-Peter Port at 25 minutes! The apartment, in itself, was roomy, clean and, particularly, calms… We appreciated the Welcome gift because, what could be better, which to taste wine glass sitting vis-a-vis a splendid panorama?
Inhabitants were very friendly and helpful to us. As French, we appreciate particularly Hauteville House, where Victor Hugo spent almost 15 years, and…the food! Restaurants were really good and cheaper than expected!
We hope to come back next year…

We stayed in the Rocquaine apartment from 21 – 28 July 2010. The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable like my own home. La Pointe farm is very well located for exploring Guernsey.

We stayed at the Portelet Apt in July 2010 for 12nights. We were very happy with the facilities and cleanliness of the apt and had a great time on Guernsey with events in St Peter Port and various trips to beaches around the island. Hope to be back one day in the future.

Dear Kevin & Cindy, Thank You for a great holiday.
We stayed in the beautiful Portelet apartment in early July 2010 as a family of 5. Within 48 hours of returning home we rebooked the same apartment for 2011, need we say more!
Portelet has absolutely everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay: plenty of space, comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen, even milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge from our very welcoming hosts. (Thank You Kevin & Cindy!) Most importantly, the apartment was spotlessly clean.
Our children, aged 8,6 & 3 really loved the animals at the farm, especially Harriet the goat!
La Pointe Farm, with its ample parking, provides a great base to explore the island. Rocquaine Bay is a 10 minute walk from the farm and offers acres of lovely clean sand and sea for children to play safely.
Guernsey has such a gentle pace of life and there is so much to do and see without travelling far. A day trip to Sark is a must, if only to enjoy the views of the other islands as well as France.
There are lots of great places to eat, The Boathouse in St Peter Port would be hard to beat, and everywhere was child friendly.
We all really enjoyed our stay, we honestly could not fault it. Guernsey is a place that you will visit and promise yourselves that one day you will return. To live there!
Thanks again, from all of us.

We stayed in the Perelle apartment from 10-17 July. The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable – Kevin and Cindy were very good hosts (apologies about the washing machine!). La Pointe Farm is very well located for exploring the north west corner of Guernsey. We were very fortunate with the weather which made Guernsey even more enjoyable. Dinner at the Imperial Hotel (Pleinmont) is to be recommended.

The Broughton Family louisebroughton@btinternet.com

We stayed at la Pointe Farm at the end of June as an adult family of 7 – one couple in Perelle, one granny in Cobo, and one couple and daughter and boyfriend in Portelet. The arrangement worked brilliantly – we all had our own space but could access the garden for meals in the sunshine through the ground floor garden flat – poor old granny must have thought she was living in a railway carriage at times!
All the apartments were light sunny, beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable with decent beds, and Kevin and Cindy are delightful hosts.
Large TV a boon for Wimbledon!!!
Things we loved about Guernsey:
The weather – were we lucky or is it always 28 degrees and sunny?!
The speed limit and slow pace of life.
The glorious plants and flowers which were EVERYWHERE!!
St Peters Port – loved ambling through the narrow streets
The walks along the cliff paths and beaches
Kiosks and fresh crab sandwiches
Sark- and especially herm -NOTE! DO NOT leave booking your tickets on arrival at the harbour because you most certainly will struggle to get on the sailing of your choice. BOOK YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE IF YOU CAN. Choose a sunny day for herm and stay a couple of nights at the hotel there, if not, don’t eat in the tavern on the island but head for the pub attached to the hotel – much nicer and less busy.
Try the following:
lunch/dinner at the fleur du jardin hotel, the farmhouse hotel, the jerbourg hotel- all have lovely terraces and pools – in particular the jerbourg on the coast in St Martins which overlooks Herm and Sark. Lunch at deer hound pub near airport – looks grotty from the front but super terrace and garden and great nosh.
Crabby jacks was ok but very busy and food a bit mediocre! Also recommended dinner at the the auberge du val by friends who live on guernsey but we didn’t have time.
For ready-made meals (better than M and S by far)we’d certainly recommend a visit to the COOK

My partner and I stayed in the Wing at La Pointe Farm from 10th to 17th July, 2010. We found the little apartment extremely well-appointed, with every creature comfort provided. One of our favourite features was the little garden, which enabled us to breakfast outside when the weather was fine, and chase the seagulls off! We also loved the fact that we had a fabulous view of the sea from the lounge, which we never tired of gazing at.
Our hosts, Kevin and Cindy were an amazing source of information and advice about what to see and where to go on the island, and we discovered that cycling was definitely the best way to get about and see it all.
In general, the islanders were extremely friendly and helpful, from the staff at Cycle World, to restaurateurs – and not least of all Kevin and Cindy.
We found the island wonderfully relaxing and La Pointe Farm the best place to do just that – relax and get away from it all. It was quiet, but close to shops and restaurants, so that we were within walking or cycling distance from a number of options.
Guernsey itself is not only a gem of an island – the flowers are breath-taking and it’s a nature-lovers’ paradise – but is of tremendous historical interest, covering a broad span of time from early to recent history. We strongly recommend both Castle Cornet and the Occupation Museum, amongst others.
Last, but not least, Guernsey is the best place we’ve been to yet, for seafood. The most fabulous crab and lobster are to be had at almost every eatery on the island (and there are a great deal!) and we’ll definitely be coming back for more.

We had a lovely stay at La Point Farm June 12th – 20th 2010. The cottage was comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for. We had good weather during the week and enjoyed walking and experiencing the beautiful views and sunsets. We have already recommended Guernsey to several of our friends!

We had the most fantastic week. Really lucky with the weather – hardly a cloud in the sky for the week in June 19th-25th. It was our first trip to Guernsey and it is up there with our top holidays! We found the Perelle apartment great, well equipped and so nice to come back to sit in the early evening sunshine before going down to the beach to watch the sunset. Great if you love history as there is so much to see. Enjoyed some fabulous walks and found the pace of the island to be so relaxing. Thank you so much for making our week perfect.

Our second year running staying at La Pointe Farm and it was even better this time round!! We stayed (again) in Rocquaine Apartment which suits us perfectly (ground floor entry all on one level and with direct access to the garden).
The apartment was as well-equipped and immaculate as last year but our stay was improved by the fact that the bathroom has been completely refurbished to an even higher standard.
We were completely spoilt with a week of amazing weather and have returned home with great suntans from seven days on the beach. We discovered L’Eree beach this year (having always been great fans of Cobo) and it has become our firm favourite. L’Eree is quieter and more interesting with an excellent tea rooms just across the road and clean loos at the top of the beach. The water was as clear as I have seen anywhere in the world (though a little chillier than more tropical destinations!) Highly recommended.
Thanks Kevin and Cindy for another great holiday. We’ll be back!

Stayed in The Wing from 6/6 – 12/6. Clean & sufficient for our stay. Felt there was a bit of dampness & clothes smelt of cigarette smoke, think this was from the the air vent in the bathroom. However a good place to stay thank you.

We stayed in the L’Eree Apartment June 5 – 13th. What a lovely Barn Conversion this is; furnished to a high standard, lovely and clean and all mod cons. plus fab views over L’Eree Bay on one side and the countryside on the other. The history of La Pointe Farm and the old barracks and prison is really interesting and the guy at the Occupation Museum was very knowledgeable about its past. A very nice welcome touch was the bottle of red wine, biscuits and carton of milk. The ‘farm’ setting is lovely and our introduction to the animals by your daughter (didn’t catch her name – sorry!) was really nice. We fell for Harriet in a big was and are now looking to get a couple of goats. We know Guernsey well as have family here, and this time we were over for a wedding do (and extended holiday!)It was so relaxing to stay self-catering so we didn’t have to rush around for meal times or cleaners. It was very good of you also to let us have a spare key for the week so that Grandpa could do his own thing on occasion. Would definitely recommend la Pointe and would also come back again in the future. Hope I haven’t written too much – could go on with more! Lots of love Gill x

We stayed at the Cobo Apartment during the first week on June 2010. We were in Guernsey for a surfing holiday…and teachers at Guernsey Surf School at Vazon Bay were brilliant and good surfing. Beaches were lovely (and clean!). Kevin and Cindy were very helpful, and although we had a broken down washing machine, they kindly (and without hesitation) allowed us to use their industrial one as well as their tumble dryer (for which we are very grateful….thanks). Facilities in the apartment were spot on and the horses are lovely. Can’t wait to come again.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments and really enjoyed it. We were looking for a one-week stay in Guernsey where our little 4-year old boy would not be bored in a standard hotel room… La Pointe was perfect for him as he loved the animals around the apartments – He fed carrots to the horses every day, visited the pigs next door, etc. the owners are also super nice as all the people on the island. We had very sunny days 50% of the time and on those days the island was really

We stayed at the L’Eree apartment during 2-9 May 2010. The place was everything one can expect and even more 🙂 Very comfortable and very cosy. 4 adults and a baby fitted there perfectly! The sunset view was lovely and the animals outside cute 🙂 We would recommend it for sure!

I stayed at Mirus cottage from April 17th to 24th (2010) with my sons, everybody enjoyed these holidays, La pointe farm is very well located, near the sea and in a wonderful countryside, not too far from St Peter. The house is very comfortable, quiet and really ideal to take a rest. More!if your teenager had an English lesson to do, you can found a teacher in La pointe farm, thanks again for that !!And sorry for my own mistakes…

We stayed in Rocquaine apartment from 2 – 10 April. It was immaculately clean, the kitchen well stocked, the sunset from the lounge – fantastic! Our son (5) was delighted to be able to say a daily hello to Harriet the Golden Guernsey goat and give her a tickle and also to see the ponies and Tommy the horse. We greatly enjoyed our trips to Sark (horse & carriage ride a must) and Herm. Guernsey Candle craft is a great for anyone with ‘crafty’ kids (or adults) – you get to dip and carve your own candle – so good we had to go twice. Aladdin’s Cave, close by, has a huge selection of toys, as well as household items. Outlands mini-golf gave us the best laugh we’ve had for ages.
We stopped off at Guernsey Pearl and had some tasty meals at their café. You can also get a horse and carriage ride from here and visit Fort Grey over the road. Cobo Bay Hotel is also lovely for meals and sunsets. In fact we didn’t find anywhere that we wouldn’t want to eat again. We were out for most of the day, every day, there is plenty to do and see and when we come back to Guernsey we would happily stay at La Pointe Farm again.
Thank you Kevin and Cindy.

We stayed in the Perelle apartment (with sea view) 1st-8th 2010 and have already booked Perelle for 2011 – the third successive year we will have been to La Pointe Farm. We walk and cycle every day in various parts of the island, and the farm is a perfect base, with Kevin and Cindy brilliant hosts. The apartments are all spotlessly clean, fully equipped and ideally placed for shops. There are numerous excellent restaurants, with our own favourite being The Pavilion which we visited three times this year.
A further bonus is that both petrol and diesel cost under £1 per litre.

We stayed in ‘Cobo’ apartment from 25-29th April. It was very well equipped with all mod-cons, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. We can recommend Cobo Bay hotel for a delicious meal and spectacular sunset over the bay. If you want a special meal, we would recommend La Fregate hotel in St Peter Port with wonderful views over the Castle and Harbour.
We will definitely return to Guernsey and La Pointe Farm
Thank you Kevin and Cindy

We stayed in Mirus Cottage from April 3th-17th 2010. We liked the well equipped kitchen and the fact that there are two bedrooms, and of course the big TV screen 🙂 Also the rural location is great. Since it was still early in the year it got quite chilly at night but an electric heater was provided to heat the living/kitchen area. – We liked Guernsey, but can recommend especially the boat trips the Herm and Sark. Too bad there was no boat service yet to Alderney. Be careful while driving on Guernsey’s roads: they are narrow with a lot of dangerous bends and intersections, especially when your car is left-hand driven! And there is an amazingly high volume of traffic, so beware. We can recommend La Pointe Farm without reserve.

Our first stay in the wing, having been in all the other apartments over the years, this is now our favourite. From eating at the dining table by the windows, enjoying the view across the fields, sea and Pleinmont, to sitting in the private secluded garden area, wonderful, peaceful a little bit of heaven, which to us just reflects Guernsey. The walks in the lanes, the views and of course the food.

My husband and I, along with a friend, stayed in the Rocquaine apartment from March 25 to the 30th. It was perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the living room was cosy. We were visiting Guernsey as tourists and after a long day of tramping the hills, it was lovely to return to our “home away from home”.
Cindy and Kevin were terrific hosts, never intruding, but always willing to answer questions or give suggestions. On our last night, we went to a pub recommended by them and had a wonderful dinner and a magnificent sunset. I look forward to returning to Guernsey and La Pointe Farm.

My husband and I stayed at L’Eree apartment in March. We were working on our boat so needed accommodation. L’Eree met all our needs as we used it as a base to sleep and eat after long hours spent servicing and anti-fouling the boat. L’Eree had more than adequate equipment, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water – perfect for easing aching limbs.
It was lovely being able to watch the views and sunsets from the upper windows. As ever, we loved the west coast road journey to and from the boat, each day.

We stayed in “Cobo” apartment for a week from 20th to 27th March 2010. Fabulous, from the flowers and wine on arrival, to the enormous bed! Never seen such a big bed, and so comfortable. Lovely apartment. Everything you could possibly need was provided.
We loved Guernsey, from the shops in St Peter’s Port, and elsewhere, to the attractions, from Neolithic tombs, to more recent history, with the many museums, etc. Lovely talking to Cindy as well about the history of La Pointe Farm, despite the rain!
Some lovely walks as well, especially along the south coast. Beautiful scenery.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and can’t wait to visit again. Would recommend La Pointe Farm to anyone.

I stayed in No.4 apartment from 19th – 22nd March 2010. I found the apartment very stylish and warm with all mod cons and the nice surprise of flowers and a bottle of wine as well as the usual milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. The T.V. was a great size for watching the Rugby Internationals! It was even warm enough one day to sit in the lovely garden with a book!
I have to sing Guernsey’s praises for a lived there for some years when I was first married and have visited often since. It is almost a mirror image for me of St. Ives in Cornwall where I now live. I never tire of the views of Castle Cornet and the islands
And the lovely beaches – large and sandy in places and small with high cliffs in others. There’s so much to explore and many places of interest to see e.g. the museums, Victor Hugo’s House, the Little Chapel, the folk museum and so on.
I managed to fit in some retail therapy as usual, perfume for myself and a birthday present for a grand-daughter from the wonderful Bruce Russell & Son Goldsmiths. There’s a good restaurant there as there are all over the island.
One useful tip – even if you take your car which I did – you can have an hour and a half tour round the coast of Guernsey on a local bus (7A) for only 60p from the bus station in St. Peter Port.It gives an immediate overview of the island.
The island looked lovely at this time of year with all the wonderful flowers. As I’ve done in the past I came home with 4 bunches of freesias which cost 50p a bunch from the growers honesty boxes at the sides of the lanes. They will be a fragrant reminder of yet another wonderful visit to my favourite island.

We stayed in the one bedroom Perelle apartment for a week in late October 2009. We found it clean, well-appointed and comfortable; the flowers and bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival were a wonderful touch. It was a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We spent the days driving and walking around the island; if you are a WW II buff, there are a number of places that will appeal. We did not frequent any restaurants, except for going for coffee and pastries at each of the three branches of the Victor Hugo coffee shop. Instead, each day we stopped at the hedge-veg boxes at the end of many of the driveways, leaving money (on the honour system) for the freshest of home gardener vegetables that we cooked up each evening and ate with bread we picked up earlier in the day. We would come back to Guernsey and La Pointe Farm apartments without hesitation—great atmosphere and good value for the money.

Having read the delightful book “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”,we decided to visit the island and see it for ourselves. We flew overnight from Toronto to Guernsey via Gatwick arriving at La Pointe Farm somewhat tired. We were delighted with the comfort and completeness of the apartment, particularly with the welcoming vase of freesias and the makings for a cup of tea. We found the apartment (Cobo) to be very well appointed with all one might need for a week’s holiday.
We enjoyed the rural aspects of the western side of Guernsey and found La Pointe Farm to be well located for peaceful walks in the lanes down to L’Eree and Rocquaine Bays.
We spent a day on Herm, fascinated by a community without any cars. We walked over to Belvoir Bay and on the way back stopped to have a pint and snack in the warmth of the Mermaid Tavern.
At low tide, a walk out on the causeway to Lihou Island was most enjoyable. We rented a car which allowed us to get easily to some spectacular areas, particularly the cliff top walks along the south coast. Le Gouffre and Jerbourg Point are outstanding. There is an excellent restaurant and gift store close to the Le Gouffre parking lot.
Because finding a parking space in St. Peter Port is so difficult we found it better to take the bus from the L’Eree Hotel into town (7 or 7A. It is worth noting this bus goes round the island so you can have a grand tour for 60 pence!) In the opposite direction the fish and chips takeaway at Cobo Bay is worth the trip by itself.
Good weather helped make this a memorable vacation. Thank you Kevin and Cindy for lending us the book on the island history during WWII and the German Occupation, and thank you for the bottle of wine and chocolate cookies we found waiting for us in Cobo.

We have visited Guernsey a number of times, always in May. To us this is the best time of year as the flowers are glorious. This time we visited in October and were blessed with glorious warm, sunny weather. We have stayed in Mirus Cottage a number of times and we find it a peaceful and relaxing home from home. La Pointe Farm is in an ideal location – short walk to the beach and L’Eree Hotel (which serves excellent food). The walk along the green lanes from La Pointe and then onto the beach round to Rocquaine is lovely. A stroll to the Reservoir on a sunny Sunday afternoon is not to be missed. We thoroughly recommend the purchase of the Guernsey Walks book (from Tourist Information) which takes you off the beaten track and points out things so easily missed, including the wildlife. We love the empty beaches and the French/English mix, especially the food! A trip to Herm is an absolute must, just to see Shell Beach if nothing else. Kevin and Cindy are a great couple and we hope to see them again next year.

We stayed with our two boys aged 5 and 8 in VAZON apartment , which is about two floors, from October 13th till October 21st this year. It was our first visit to Guernsey, and our children and we found it wonderful. The apartment was fully equipped and we felt really at home during our stay (-thank you also for the warm welcome on our first day with a bottle of fine red wine and chocolate cookies, we enjoyed it a lot!!) Cindy and Kevin are very friendly hosts and we would be glad if there is a possibility to return! We came by plane and sometimes it was a bit difficult to move because we didn`t really understand the bus system, so we walked a lot. We love the mixture of French and British culture and learnt a lot about the occupation time. Nevertheless, the museums are worth to
Visit (f.e. Fort Grey, Castle Cornet, The German Underground Hospital). We had nearly the whole time good weather, so we were not often in our apartment. But we found it as it was in the description and loved it. Food stuff is very good at L`Eree Hotel and the Longfrie Inn. The children loved Longfrie Inn, because there is an indoor playground with everything for their special needs. Fantastic for the children and great for the parents! The beaches are amazing, huge moulding boxes for our little builders (and also a big treasure box for them). Maybe we will visit Guernsey once again and if so, we will certainly try to get the accommodation at La Pointe Apartment!! Kind regards – Andreas, Birgit, Marius and Tobias

Had another brilliant fortnight in Portelet apartment, the views are to die for from this 1st floor apartment. The sunsets are spectacular, a real ‘chill out’ time, we will be back.

We stayed in apartment 1 and could find no fault either with the accommodation or the ambiance of the Farm. Totally relaxing and quiet and have no hesitation in recommending this venue to others and of course we will be returning. Thanks again for a great stay.

We stayed at La Pointe during July 2009. We found the apartment to be well presented, clean with all the essentials a family could need. Would be more than happy to return.

We stayed with Kevin and Cindy when they first opened. We were delighted to find such a warm and welcoming apartment. No lack of space and certainly well equipped. As Diane’s background is hotel management she would have noticed otherwise, but she was very impressed.
We have returned on several occasions and have always been equally delighted.
The Rocquaine apartment has always been allocated to us, and now it feels like home from home.
We have returned on Tuesday 14th October 2009 after eight days as this year we could only stay for a short while because we came with our grandson and his wife, and they have obviously not yet reached the enviable position of holidaying when they want to.
Do make sure to watch the sunset at Cobo Bay and to take a walk along the beach there and other nearby beaches.
The Guernsey Tapestry is well worth a visit.
When we came to Guernsey first of all some 30 years ago, we discovered the little bright yellow shells, some of which are now ‘bottled’ in old vodka and whisky bottles. This year the collection was for our grandson to put at the bottom of his fish tank! All three of our grandchildren have a bottle of shells, and this reminds them of what a special place Guernsey is. Romance is there, but also lively pubs etc. if that’s required.
On the occasion of our first visit Peter had an accident and had to go to hospital with a damaged leg. All his own fault!! Kevin and Cindy were very helpful and co-operative, and allowed us to stay at the apartment until it was time for our plane. Thank you so much both of you.
We look forward to our next visit

We stayed for a week (27.9. – 4.10.) and enjoyed everything on the island! the Rocquaine flat was very nice, clean and comfortable. The owner Kevin is a very friendly person. We had the luck of sunny and quite warm weather. It was beautiful!

We stayed in the Mirus cottage (26th September)for a week after spending the previous week in St Peter Port.
The accommodation was fine with everything there that we needed (including a fine bottle of red wine and chocolate biscuits on arrival – thank you!).
We had travelled to La Pointe on the bus with no problem, however we soon realised that there was a real need for a hire car – an absolute bargain compared to UK and European prices. This really opened up our options for the week – getting to see more of the island and having more “freedom”.
We didn’t experience any problems with parking (St Peter Port or anywhere else) – the parking disc system works very well. We ate at the Longfrie Inn (very good value) and the local shop(s) catered for all our self-catering needs.
The coast around the West and North of the island (easily accesible from La Pointe) is spectacular and well worth taking time out to explore.
On the farm the dogs (Riley and Alfie) are full of fun but only play ball when they’re in the mood, the horses and goat (Harriet) are always ready to be stroked!
We were blessed with excellent weather, however there’s nothing stopping anyone having a great time on Guernsey and at La Pointe.

We stayed in L’Eree apartment during the week of 26th September and found the accommodation to be everything that we had hoped for. It is often easy to view details on a website but to be disappointed with the reality but that was not the case. The apartment is really comfortable with every item that you may wish for. The sunsets are a joy to see.
As for Guernsey, we weren’t too sure what to expect. I suppose that we found the island smaller than we had imagined but that wasn’t a problem. Traffic flows efficiently but slowly as the traffic regulations are a maximum of 35mph. The roads at first seem quite narrow but we soon got used to them. Parking in St Peter Port can be a challenge. On one occasion we used the park and ride in Footes Lane and on another the car park at Bon Sejour – both of which are free and only a short walk into the main high street.
There are many places to visit and see. There are some especially lovely beaches and a day trip to Herm is well worth doing.
What we did find unusual was the fact that many of the pubs and restaurants don’t serve food in the evenings until 6pm or later. On a couple of occasions we were looking to eat earlier and were caught out but we survived!
Overall, we had a great week and would thoroughly recommend La Pointe Farm to anyone.

We have stayed in Rocquaine for the last 2 years for 2 weeks with our 2 sons. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and indeed have booked again for next year; it is a home from home. The apartment is very well equipped if staying with children and it has access to a beautiful garden. We would highly recommend Guernsey, great beaches and lots to see and do. Thanks Kevin and Cindy

Dear Kevin & Cindy
Thank you making us so welcome when we stayed in the Wing 7th- 14th September 2009. We were very happy with the accommodation and appreciated the things that you kindly left out for us when we arrived. The siting of La Pointe Farm suited us fine and we thought that beaches like the one at Port Soif were lovely and would be great for children. We were amazed at how many little roads there were and although we were surprised at the amount of traffic, we did find some of the fascinating “green lanes” to walk along and cliff walks and found that there was plenty for us to see and do, including the various honesty boxes (including the putting green near La Pointe).
Kind regards
Ralph and Shelia

Hi Kevin & Cindy
Thanks for letting us stay in your Rocquaine Apartment 31st Aug – 12th Sept. The facilities and equipment in the accommodation were brilliant, everything we needed. La Pointe is well situated, post office and food store a short distance away, we stayed in St Peters Port last year but found being on the west side of the island was for more relaxing.
We flew from East Midlands on Aurigny new service 1 hour 10mins to be on the best island, fantastic.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Guernsey (5-12 Sept) staying in your Perelle apartment which we found very clean and comfortable. We travelled around the whole island and spent our days walking the wonderful cliff paths of Guernsey, stopping off at the delightful tearooms on the way. The weather at the start of our holiday was superb and we spent a wonderful day in Herm with its beautiful beaches. The garden to the rear of the property provided us with sunshine right into the evening and it was lovely to return after a day out and relax in the garden with a book and a glass of wine until the sun went down. We drove to St Peters Port each evening, where the restaurants are varied and plentiful. The pace of life on Guernsey is much slower than here, allowing us to really unwind and relax. Many thanks for helping us to enjoy Guernsey to the full.

Dear Kevin and Cindy,
Thank you once again for another lovely holiday. We stayed in Mirus cottage with our daughter and 20 month old granddaughter, and 3 dogs. We were once again very comfortable in the cottage which was very clean and fresh and very well equipped. We ate out every lunch time and ate in in the evenings.
Also staying with us was our 2 sons and daughters in law with our 3 grandsons aged between 20 months and 3 years they were staying in the apartment called Vazon this was very comfortable and clean and we joined them each evening for a family meal. We all had a lovely family holiday, and would certainly recommend La Pointe Farm for a stay on Guernsey.
We used to come to Guernsey many years ago when our 3 children were very young and always enjoyed our stay. When we both turned 60 in 2005 we decided to have a family holiday again in Guernsey, then we missed a couple of years when we had an influx of grandchildren arriving but now intend to spend lots of family holidays here once again.
We love the coastal paths and the dogs all loved the variety of walks.
Thank you once again for your hospitality and hope we were not too noisy, with 4 children, 3 and under, and 3 dogs it was sometimes difficult to keep everybody quiet all the time!

Visiting the Channel Islands was on our wish list for a long time. This year we were able to make a holiday trip from the Netherlands to South England, via Poole to Guernsey and Jersey and back to Holland via France. It was really a great holiday.
We stayed in the Mirus Cottage from July 18 – July 25 with our 3 children. Mirus isn’t very large but big enough for five persons. It has its own small garden to relax or to enjoy a barbecue. Mirus is a comfortable house with all necessary equipment. The hospitality was great. When we had a small problem on Sunday evening, Kevin was even willing to come immediately and help us.
Mirus was built during the Second World War to house officers from the Mirus cottage. Everywhere on the island we saw the survivals of the German occupation. Guernsey has a rich history, but unfortunately also a bloody history. Therefore it felt if we lived in Mirus on historical ground.
We visited the beaches and some museums and we made trips to Alderney and Herm as well, where it struck me that each island has its own character. It was a nice and relaxed week for us in Guernsey.

Dear Kevin and Cindy
We did leave notes (and pics!) to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at La Pointe Farm last week (L’Eree apartment – 23rd August), but my note was very rushed so I just wanted to reiterate that your accommodation is absolutely first class and the girls and I loved every minute of our stay – I only wish that our whole stay in Guernsey had been with you as the location and everything about it was perfect.
It was very much a last minute rushed booking but one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! After a particularly manic year at work my summer break was the therapy/rest that I needed.
Having been born in Guernsey (my parents brought me to the mainland when I was a baby) I hadn’t been back since I was seven/eight years old and wanted to see the island again – I wasn’t disappointed in spite of it being many, many years since that last visit! I also wanted the girls to visit and they loved it – and their enjoyment was enhanced by having your lovely apartment to stay in.
We fully intend to come back next year and I am thinking of during the school Easter holidays for a week – I only have one week’s leave at Easter otherwise I would do two weeks!
I’ve had a quick look at availability and will chat with the girls (and get an ok from my boss!). We loved the apartment but thought it might be nice to stay in the cottage, but to be honest I know that whichever we chose we won’t be disappointed.
Can you just confirm please how we secure a booking – do we pay a deposit or full amount up front?
This time I would also like to come by ferry rather than by plane and then hire a car and would be interested to know the cost of that– I note that you can offer special rates.
Thank you again both of you and I look forward to hearing from you re my questions above.
Best wishes
Penny Goldwater

We had a great 10 days at the end of August. The accommodation and location was great. We explored the whole island in our 10 days and had a couple of great beach days at Cobo Bay in the
North. We also enjoyed a great cliff walk on the South of the Island starting at Fermain Bay. Thanks Kevin and Cindy

We stayed in Cobo apartment from 1st-8th July 2009, arriving just at the end of the heatwave. The apartment was perfect for the 2 of us – very comfortable and well equipped. The farm was very quiet, and we did not hear any of the other guests at all, resulting in a very peaceful stay. Guernsey lived up to Chris’ memories from childhood and we had a very relaxing time with a good mix of lazing on the beach and gentle ambles around the beautiful coast path. We ate out every night bar one, and had no difficulties finding a good choice of food.

Our latest visit was 9th to the 17th July 2009, when we stayed in Cobo Apartment. The apartment was excellent and comfortable, just right for the two of us, with all home comforts included. The accommodation is secluded but within easy reach of all amenities, even without a car, as the bus route is just out on the main road. The variety of restaurants and good value means you are spoilt for choice, favourites ‘Imperial’, ‘Crabbie Jacks’, and many more. It was another peaceful, restful weeks, apart from the wonderful walks, with lots of fantastic views. Looking forward to our next visit

We stayed in Rocquaine Apartment from 11th to 18th July 2009 as a family of four; two parents, one very active toddler and Grandma.
The accommodation was perfect for our needs, being on the ground floor and all on one level with access to the beautiful enclosed garden.
The main living area was perfect for family living with open-plan kitchen (very well equipped), lounge and dining areas. The two bedrooms were light and airy and everywhere was spotlessly clean.
The apartment was perhaps a little smaller than we had anticipated from the photos but had everything we needed and didn’t feel in any way cramped with three adults and a child.
Having spent all my childhood holidays in Guernsey it was a real treat to see my own child enjoy the simple pleasures that the island has to offer. It was as if time had stood still seeing him playing on the sand, splashing in the sea and climbing over the rock pools. Our favourite beach always was (and continues to be) Cobo Bay which is large, sandy and safe for children. It has all the essential facilities you need for days on the beach and the added benefit of the Cobo Tea Rooms which do excellent sandwiches (voted best crab sarnies in Guernsey this summer) and homemade cakes. We lunched there most days!
We also visit Saumarez Park which has a large and safe children’s playground which proved a useful diversion on the couple of cloudy days we had.
On the couple of occasions when kind Grandma babysat, we ate out at The Auberge (Jerbourg) and Da Nello’s (St Peter Port) – we highly recommended both.
The ‘Home James’ service is also one to consider if you enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner. You drive yourself to your pub/restaurant in your own car and you then get driven home by a ‘James’ driver who puts his mini moped in your boot!! Brilliant idea.
We also ate at Crabby Jacks (Vazon Bay) which is great for kids, with a very extensive menu, decent family food and efficient service. It was reason…
